Privacy policy
How this website handles personal data, when it uses cookies, and how you can exercise your rights under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
This English version is provided for convenience. If there is any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
1. Who is the controller
The controller of the personal data processed on this website (chadarevian.adv.br) is Tiago Chadarevian Sociedade Individual de Advocacia, a single-member Brazilian law firm enrolled in the Brazilian corporate taxpayer registry (CNPJ) under No. 68.476.452/0001-88 and registered with the São Paulo Bar (OAB/SP) under No. 70.291, located at Av. Brigadeiro Faria Lima, 1811, Suite 1119, São Paulo/SP, Brazil. The firm’s sole member is attorney Tiago Chadarevian, OAB/SP No. 549.252.
2. Data protection officer and contact
The person in charge of personal data processing (encarregado, under article 41 of the LGPD) is Tiago Chadarevian. For any matter concerning this policy or your data, write to contato@chadarevian.adv.br.
3. What data is processed
Browsing data, through Google Analytics, only with your consent. If you click “Accept” on the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4 starts recording how the site is used: pages visited, time spent, how you reached the site (for example, a search engine or a link), device type, browser, operating system, language and approximate location (city or region), plus a random identifier stored in a cookie. This data does not include your name, email address or telephone number.
Before you choose, or if you decline, no Google Analytics cookie is stored in your browser. Google’s code still loads in a restricted mode (consent mode) and may send Google technical signals without cookies or persistent identifiers, such as the page visited, the date and time of access, the browser type and the referring page. As with any internet connection, your device’s IP address is also transmitted.
Contact by email or WhatsApp. The contact buttons simply open your email program or WhatsApp; the site has no forms and does not collect this information itself. The data you send through these channels (such as your name, contact details and information about your matter) is used to reply to your message and, where applicable, to assess and formalize an engagement, and is protected by professional secrecy. WhatsApp messages are also processed by the company that operates the app, under its own privacy policy.
Hosting. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. As with any website, the server receives the visitor’s IP address; GitHub states that it logs these addresses for security purposes, regardless of cookies.
4. Cookies and local storage
This site does not use advertising cookies. The only cookies are those of Google Analytics, stored only if you accept:
_ga: distinguishes visitors by means of a random identifier. Expires after 2 years, renewed on each visit._ga_N5ERXBJJ00: keeps the session state. Expires after 2 years, renewed on each visit.
In addition, the site keeps in your browser’s local storage (localStorage)
the entry tc-consent, with your choice and the date it was made, so the notice is
not shown on every visit. This entry is not sent to anyone and is valid for 12 months; after
that, the notice appears again.
5. What the data is used for
Google Analytics data is used solely to produce aggregate audience statistics, such as which articles are read most and where visits come from, in order to improve the content and operation of the site. It is not used for advertising, to build individual profiles or to make automated decisions about you.
6. Legal basis
- Google Analytics with cookies: consent (LGPD, article 7, I). You may refuse it without losing access to the site and withdraw it at any time (article 8, paragraph 5).
- Cookieless technical signals sent before you choose, and hosting access logs: legitimate interest (article 7, IX, and article 10), limited to the data strictly necessary to measure use of the site in aggregate and to keep it secure.
- Messages sent by email or WhatsApp: preliminary steps towards a contract, at your request (article 7, V); if an engagement follows, performance of the contract, compliance with legal and regulatory obligations and the regular exercise of rights (article 7, II, V and VI). Sensitive data you may send (for example, about health) is processed only for the regular exercise of rights, including in contracts and in judicial, administrative or arbitral proceedings (article 11, II, “d”).
7. Sharing and international transfer
Google Analytics data is processed by Google, which may store and process it on servers outside Brazil, including in the United States, under the data protection terms Google applies to Google Analytics. Access logs kept by GitHub, which is based in the United States, and email and WhatsApp messages, which pass through the servers of the respective providers, may also be processed outside Brazil. We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties other than those mentioned in this policy.
8. How long the data is kept
Google Analytics data linked to cookies and identifiers is retained for no more than 14 months and then deleted automatically; aggregate statistical reports, which do not identify visitors, may be kept longer. Messages received by email or WhatsApp are kept for as long as needed to handle them and, if an engagement follows, for the applicable legal periods.
9. Your rights
Under article 18 of the LGPD, you may request: confirmation that processing takes place; access to the data; correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data; anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, or data processed in breach of the law; portability; deletion of data processed on the basis of consent; information about the entities with which the data has been shared; information about the possibility of not giving consent and the consequences of refusing; and withdrawal of consent. You may also object to processing carried out without consent if the law is breached, and lodge a petition with the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
To exercise these rights, write to contato@chadarevian.adv.br. Because Google Analytics uses random identifiers, it is usually not possible to link this data to a person; the simplest way to stop the collection is therefore to decline or withdraw consent and delete the cookies in your browser.
10. How to change your choice
You can change your decision at any time using the button below. If you decline, the Google Analytics cookies stored by this site are deleted from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on provided by Google.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or to the law. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
